Bodies : Ecologies of Asperity.
The ceramic body does not merely occupy space. It develops organs through which space can be sensed, gathered and made otherwise.
The hole becomes a threshold through which the practice itself changes scale.
The minor is not insignificant. Its force is cumulative.
The future is not necessarily beyond the material encounter; it may already be gathering within it.
Rather than positioning clay within an ecology from the outside, Moreton approaches clay as an ecology through which the maker becomes permeable.
Body becomes threshold.
Threshold becomes gathering.
Gathering becomes another body.
